Mailtronic

Business Continuity Plan

With computer operations and data processing capabilities becoming integral to an organization’s ability to function, Mailtronic has made the conscious decision to put in place its own business continuity system as part of a fully operational pre-disaster recovery solution.

With the demand for efficiency and our drive towards a reduction in operating costs in order to continue providing competitive solutions to our clients, we believe a two-phase system – comprising both of internal Mailtronic disaster recovery solution and additional external business partner solutions – is the most stable.
This two-phase approach has enabled us to manage disaster recovery and business continuity through the following solutions: On-site and off-site backup machines in the event of one machine going down, Printing facilities at other Mailtronic branches in other provinces, and Agreements with partners to perform our functions should all Mailtronic equipment fail.
These are the main reasons Mailtronic has formulated a specialized disaster recovery plan, which is supported by our own business continuity sites in Johannesburg (situated less than l km from Mailtronic’s head office) and in the Western Cape.

At these sites we have managed to integrate the key components required to keep the business functioning. These include:

  • Specialized IT and data management facilities,
  • Specialized printing equipment for generic color and variable data printing options,
  • Specialized document finishing equipment for media within moil and commercial formats,
  • A skilled production team with technical support.
